Social Skills and Consumer Reports

Nicole starts off the pod with sharing her favorite pod, “How to Talk to People Podcast”, and asks us if we feel we socially awkward. For those who have never met me, the answer to that is yes, yes I do. Sal sometimes feels social anxiety but not really awkward. Welp, wouldn’t you know, there is a pod out there to help people learn how to feel a little less awkward socially. And not only that, but there are books at the library you can read to help overcome those feelings- for adults and kids! Check out these recs: 101 ways to teach children social skills : a ready-to-use, reproducible activity book, call # 372.1395 SHAPIRO or 5 things you need to know about social skills coaching : your guide to better communication skills in the modern world, call # 302.14071 OSTOVAR.

I follow up with how to access the ever popular Consumer Reports magazine online with just your library card! Head on over to our website HERE and search for Consumer Reports. You just need an active MCPL library card and you are all set. As Sal points out, it is the EXACT same Consumer Reports online if you paid for it yourself, nothing is excluded.

We also had to mention that our beloved Tater crossed over the rainbow bridge and that staff and patrons will miss him! BUT, Tater has a huge family and two of his cousins came to visit us!! So make sure you stop by the library in Centereach to give them a nice welcome!
