There’s so much happening this summer at MCPL. Join us as we highlight some of the wonderful programming offered to our patrons, from special outdoor events to crafting, hiking, music, and more! Summer program registration begins for children and teens on June 13th, Adults on June 14th, and our Out-of-District guests on June 24th!
Children’s: Let’s look at the quarterly! The Green Teens just finished a nice grant where teens go to the recycling plant and other projects such as collecting bottle caps and creating art from them. There is also Teens Tech for Good, for teens in 6th-12th grade, over the course of 3 weeks they will learn the makerspace and make items that will be donated to local agencies. Don’t forget- Island Idol!! A regular summer staple at MCPL. And remember, Youth Services still does Summer I (6/13) and Summer II (7/18) registration dates. There’s a double dutch program, what fun, Solar oven snacks, cause y’know, the sun is HOT! Rainbow stuffed brownies is also on deck, Tweens Chat and Craft, and a virtual Library Speakers for Teens program, Children’s Summer Reading Club (6/22), Family Nature Walk at West Meadow Beach, Buddy Mercury the Piano Playing Dog will be here!!! Mutts and a Movie, another staple, will be happening again in July, We Paint for the little kids, and Reducing Family Conflict, presented by the Family Service League, Ooodles of Obstacles, Sensory Story Time (open to all) and so much more!!
Adults: Adult reg starts June 14th, adults do not fool around! Summer Reading Club for adults is also a popular program, MCPL Under the Stars programs, music acts will perform outside during the summer and there will also be food trucks, Movie Night also will be shown in the summer in the parking lot, check out game collection and museum passes…here we go for the adult programs (ages 14 and up)….Ceramic Flower (has a material fee), Crocheting, Paint Night, Fireflies, Wired Bead Earrings, Book Discussion Books Galore!, Writers Group, Miller Business programs- always nice to take for those owning their own company or in a business, ESOL and Citizenship programs, don’t forget computer classes and our Innovation space programs!! Defensive Driving, a Taylor Swift Trivia, Farm to Table programs, Genealogy (Nicole is from Italy and Ireland and all over Europe), a Blood Drive on 8/21, mental health issues, Yoga and Zumba, history programs galore, I mean….There is literally something for everyone.
