Episode 335- Watch Kanopy & Eat Ice Cream!

Did you know library cardholders have access to a Netflix-like streaming service that allows you to watch amazing movies on your favorite device? Sara’s here to let us know what new releases are available this month on Kanopy. And even if you’re not an MCPL cardholder, check out your local library for details on how you can access.

What better food to eat while watching a movie than Ice Cream? Nicole recently purchased an ice cream maker and she has some tips, plus some great books you can read with your little ones to make ice cream at home.

Takeaways: Nicole watched a long movie and that movie was…Cars.

Kanopy is a great and free service we offer at the library!! There is an app for this so you can watch it online, on your phone, or tablet. You just need a valid library card. Patrons get 30 credits a month which is about 10-14 movies a month or series. You get the titles of your choice for 72 hours and once it expires you have to download it again for more credits. Kanopy has movies, non-fiction, television shows, children’s stuff, and music concerts.

Nicole gets the Ninja Creami, it’s not instant, you need to freeze the ingredients and then make the ice cream and then store it. Heavy cream, cream cheese, milk, vanilla and sugar are all you need!! But this got Nicole inspired and she talks about recipe books for kids!
