Community Story Walks & Endless Streaming!
Late August is rolling in, pumpkin spice is just around the corner, and the library is packed with exciting updates! On this episode, Nicole and Sara broke down two fantastic initiatives you can dive into right now: a brand-new interactive StoryWalk® and the vast world of Hoopla BingePasses.
Step Outside with MCPL’s First StoryWalk®
The library introduced its very first StoryWalk® in front of the building, available through the month of August.
- The Details: The featured title is Zora’s Zucchini by Katherine Pryor, illustrated by Anna Raff. Brought to life by the Green Teens co-advisors and powered by a Sprouts Healthy Community Foundation grant, this bilingual display features English and Spanish text side-by-side.
- How It Works: Families walk through the story page by page, answering interactive discussion prompts along the way—like sharing favorite vegetables or bartering stories.
- The Bonus: Once you finish the walk, stop by the Children’s Desk inside to pick up free carrot or lettuce seeds for your fall/winter garden, plus a fun sticker!
